Autism Home Companion Dog

Krista and Kendra are identical twins both diagnosed with autism. They have both made developmental strides that has improved their speech, cognition, social skills and eye contact for starters. By taking them to the Applied Behavior Analysis(ABA therapy) therapy, speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy and preschool we have helped them overcome some of their disability but not completely. As twins and also being diagnosed with autism they both have tendencies to have meltdowns, "zone out", and experience sensory episodes to make there body and mind cooperate together. Our hope as a family is to help eliminate some of the tantrums, outbursts and fighting between the twins when they are overstimulated by introducing a skilled home companion dog. A Home companion dog quickly become a child with autism's new friend who can help them release the negative emotion with the dogs body weight.

* Can calm the child, reduce emotional outbursts and serve as a positive social link for the child to their home, school and community.
* Can have the potential to improve a child's communication skills and behavior.
* Can improve the family and child's overall quality of life.

All money raised will go towards the proceeds of purchasing the home companion dog with any overage being given to another family who is currently fundraising for there dog.
