PHASE 2 OF FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN STARTS TODAY!
Thanks to some AMAZING individuals, some of who donated multiple times, we hit and exceeded the target for PHASE 1 of Aunty Bunmi's fund raising in just ONE MONTH! See the page here http://www.gofundme.com/6Kin6daysforAuntyB
HOWEVER:
a) She still needs to complete the chemotherapy
b) An MRI scan she had (which we had to pay for out of our Phase 1 pot) did show that the fistula complicating the radiotherapy and surgery she had previously, and which was the cause of her current complications, which include **severe pain** and bleeding on most days, among other things - needs Irrigation of the area (under sigmoidoscopy guidance) to sort of washout the material contributing to the pain and bleeding.
This procedure will cost some ££.
The Oncologist has said he wants to see the MRI scan result before deciding if she should go ahead with chemo during the procedure or if she should wait for it to be over before starting chemo.
To help him decide this, she needs some blood tests first. More ££.
Goodness me. Anyhooo...
WHAT ALL THIS MEANS IS...
I still don't know what the TOTAL TARGET FOR PHASE 2 is as at the 3rd of September 2014.
I do know that she needs ££ for:
a) 6 cycles of chemo - our £6000 was to pay for the first 3, and we've spent almost £2K from that (see previous update) already. So we need at least £8000 for the rest of her chemo.
b) The washout/irrigation procedure - will cost at least £2000 (£6000 was initially touted for this but the hospital had mercy on her - after some negotiation - as she'd been self funded for over a year... and brought it down to £2K. Now waiting to find out what the surgeons and anaesthetists costs are, to add to that £2000)
c) Blood tests, further scans, consultant appointments.
The initial blood tests will be paid for from our current 'pot' raised by the AMAZING INDIVIDUALS who stepped up in PHASE 1.
I'm going to go ahead and launch Phase 2 of her FundRaising campaign TODAY SEPT 3, 2014 and will update the target as I receive more information.
MAKE SENSE?
There IS an end in sight, friends. I know some of you fear this is a bottomless pit that we can't possibly fill.
But it's NOT a bottomless pit.
This story WILL be completed in the next 12 months please God.
Aunty B's healing IS BEING COMPLETED right now and we are believing for NO COMPLICATIONS and TOTAL RESTORATION of her life and health and career to better than it was before this all started.
Her treatment IS going to end once we tie up all these loose ends.
She is receiving PHENOMENAL nutritional, emotional and other support and it's all aiding her healing as well as doing damage control over the chemicals she is receiving for treatment.
