Aubrie's Fund

Donation protected
Aubrie is a beautiful 3 year old angel. She was born with some brain abnormalities. She had a stroke while still in her mommy's tummy, causing her to have brain damage. Aubrie has seizures, feeding issues, Cerebral Palsy, and developmental delay. At 5 months of age the doctors told us that Aubrie would live the remainder of her life in a "vegetative" state, we did not see that as an option for our baby girl, so we fought for her and made sure she got as much therapy as possible to give her a fighting chance. She has over come so many obstacles and proved that doctor WRONG! Throughout her short life she has been put through some major health problems, causing her to have multiple surgeries. She is unable to eat by mouth and requires her nutrition from a tube that is placed in her tummy. She had her first surgery when she was 11 months old to place a G-Tube (a small button that goes into her stomach to receive nutrition). Fast forward to August 2013, she had to have a surgery to place a feeding tube in her intestine, called a J-Tube. Aubrie was having a difficult time tolerating her feeds through her stomach, so the surgeon cut her intestine and brought it to her abdomen wall so she would be able to eat from that tube and by-pass her stomach. Days after having this surgery, her intestines kinked and caused a blockage. Aubrie had to have, once again, another surgery to remove and fix the blockage. Now that the blockage is fixed we have to wait and see if the peristalsis (big word for the muscle that moves all the food and poop through your intestines) is working. If the peristalsis is not working there is nothing that can be done to fix it. The surgeon said that we would be at the end of the raod and need to consider comfort mesaures for Aubrie. We originally thought that we would have all the answers about if the surgery worked by Sunday, but it is going to be more like later next week. Aubrie is currently in the ICU at Cardon Childrens Hospital on a ventilator, unable to breath on her own at this time becaue she is being kept in a coma like state. Aubrie has had to recieve a few blood transfusions because she lost a fair amount of blood during surgery. Her core tempeture keeps dropping causing, hypothermia. Justin and Jaime (Aubrie's mommy and daddy) are not leaving her side and makig sure that Aubrie is being kept comfortable We will not give up on our princess as she is a fighter even when the odds are against her. There is a Pediatric hospital in Huston, Texas that specializes in gastroenterology, if the surgeon tells us that there is nothing left that he can do for Aubrie, we plan on taking her to Huston, Texas. At this time Justin is unable to work and he is the sole provider in the family. If there is anyway that you may be able to donate, even if it is $1.00, it will help. We would normally not ask for help, but we are in a time of need and would be very grateful for any help that is available. Thank you for taking the time to learn about our little girl, she is truly an angel from above. Thanks to everyone in advance.
