Ash is having back surgery

Ashlyn has been diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis. We have a small window to have a complete back fusion, otherwise she will pass the point of being operable. Her trunk has moved more than 3 degrees in the last 4 months. The Doctor appt last week, we found out she would need surgery. Today we found out it will be Jan 24. Didn’t give us long to prepare.  Unfortunately insurance will not cover all of the hardware needed for this surgery.  The estimated cost of the entire surgery is somewhere around 235,000.00. She will be hospitalized for 5-7 Days afterward and she will be home for quite a while. 

Ashlyn is 15, a sophomore at Terry High and is Varsity Cheer Captain. She is one of the most kind hearted people you will ever meet. She will be out of school for a while and home bound with physical therapy. She will return to normal things over the duration of 4 - 6 months, but the fusion will take up to 2 years to completely take.

They will cut her from neck to tailbone, Insert titanium rods on each side of her back, and secure them with C clamps and nuts and bolts!

She is a strong young woman, with great faith in our Creator. Her motto is Deuteronomy 31:6. Please pray for this sweet girl!!
