Suzanne Jacquot, abstract painter/teacher. I have a dream....... of giving to others a place to learn, explore, create, share.......
I am an abstract artist/teacher/mentor....living and working in Sonoma County, Ca, have an MFA, Art Therapy Certificate, and a non-profit. I am co-owner of Living Your Wild Creativity, a company that brings educational programs and creative workshops to those who are pulled to Get Wild and Express their heart's desires. I have a following of over 20,000 on my FB page Abstract Art Sonoma (Suzanne Jacquot) where I curate abstract art from all over the world. My deep joy is mentoring and supporting others express their own uniqueness through expressive abstract art.
I deeply believe that making art and viewing art, opens our hearts, gives us strength, provides new perspectives, connects us all and provides inspiration and joy. Being curious, creative and exploring encourages thinking out of the box. And, I believe it is a responsibility of an artist to share his/her art and to engage the community.
My vision of building a Studio where others can come learn, work, explore, connect and create has been birthing for a very long time. Being an artist is not an easy journey in today's world. Studio space is very expensive and limited and often in miserable conditions, dangerous neighborhoods and unsafe buildings. I have been there. It is very hard to thrive....
And, I don't want this to be a limiting factor in other artists' journeys. Having a clean, safe, studio space in a inspirational environment can make all the difference in the world in how people can express themselves, feel about themselves as an artist and even affect the quality of the art. Artists and the community both benefit equally when there is a place for artists. This is my Dream. Artists will be able to spend time to create or take workshops from visiting artists. There will be lectures, art salons, studio space and a small library of art books.
Last year I was able to purchase 1.45 acres in Sebastopol, Ca, with views of the big sky and vineyards, a place in the country yet close to town, an hour north of San Francisco. The design has been approved and the contractor is ready to go. The space is 30' x 60', 12' walls, 20' ceiling, lots of Northern light, a roll-up garage door, a bathroom, a utility sink, and a patio. It will accommodate workshops, shows of visiting artists, lectures, demonstrations, collaborations, and individual artists spaces. And, it will be affordable for artists and open to the community. The community is invited to meet artists and watch them create. Construction is scheduled to begin March 2018.
Please join me in bringing this much needed creative space to West Sonoma County.
Your support is a huge vote of confidence for me as a teacher/painter/community-minded artist. I feel honored that you support my vision and my hard work and my dedication to creativity and helping others and the community. Your support is a desire to see the arts thrive in West Sonoma County and an encouragement to others across the county to do the same. Your support is EVERYTHING. With you, dreams do come true. And I greatly appreciate your generosity and sponsorship in this program.
MY GOAL THROUGH YOUR PATRONAGE AND SPONSORSHIP IS TO RAISE $50,000 WHICH WILL HELP BUILD THE STUDIO FROM THE GROUND UP.
