<div>My name is Arthur Farley, I am a 20 year old athlete living with cancer aspiring to return back to the sport of sailing.
</div>

<div>As some of you may know I became European Champion in 2022 and became a member of the British Sailing Squad earlier this year just before my cancer diagnosis.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My cancer is a chronic one meaning it will be life long and will need treatments along the way. However, I am determined to make sure that it doesn’t choose my path in my sport and that I am able to achieve success at the highest level.
</div>

</div>
<div>Although I receive some funding from the British Sailing Team I am searching for some additional sponsorship and financial help to help me back into the sport after such a long time away from it. (8 months) for instance the Classic Boat Museum in Cowes has allowed me to use FOC their dinghy simulator to train and rebuild my strength. On top of on the water training at BHYC. I’m currently in my training camp in Portugal preparing for my first big event of 2024.

<div>The first events back was in February/March 2024 the Senior Europeans in Greece or the Under 21 Europeans in Mallorca, with a PB and a top 10 finish it is a great start back onto the boat.

<div>Campaigning an ILCA7 doesn’t have a fixed budget as there are so many events in different places every year but for a very long time now, I had to selectively miss events and do the key events as an absolute minimum as I couldn’t afford the fees for the year of around £50,000. I am really hoping that through this fundraiser campaign to avoid this situation as not only is it stressful which can affect my performance but limits the events I can compete at.

<div>Many athletes spend much more than this as they have the backing but I found it better suited to try to raise the minimum I need to complete the whole years events and live within my self imposed budgets.
</div>

<div>Any money raised will only be going to fund my campaign as I cannot support it in any other way, it covers;
