Arrows For Addison

Donation protected

Update: 12/5/16

Addison sleeping with Mommy. The first one when she was little peacefully snuggled up to Kindra's tattoo of her name. The second one taken Halloween weekend when Kindra wanted some Addi snuggles.

290 days past DX, Addison past away this afternoon at 12:35. We were all relaxing and starting to nap when Kindra heard one last big breath. In the next 10 minutes Addison took two smaller breaths and she was free of all of the pain and suffering from the last year.

The following is by no means a dig or meant to discredit her doctors or nurses but to prove that she was a fighter to the end and would not go easily. When we left the hospital we were told that she had days to weeks to live and would not likely make it out of October. Halloween weekend we were told that she was going down hill and she had 1 to 3 days to live. On another day in November we called hospice in because she stopped breathing and thought she had passed only for her to start breathing again after the phone call. Come to find out she was finally able to clear her lungs and breathe better. We were given 6 hours and one point and told we could have her pass within 24 hours. I just back tracked and Addison went 48 days without food, her body was rejecting it and causing her to aspirate. This all shows her fighting spirit and the fact that she is the strongest person I will ever know.

Update: 10/23/16

This is one of the reasons that Addison's page is called "Arrows for Addison" Addison had been shooting Archery for a couple of years before she decided to stop. Little did we know at the time that her vision and her strength issues which caused her to stop were related to DIPG. All of this comes to mind as all of these past pictures from Timehop come up daily on Kindra's phone, with get joy and agony we look back at these pictures.

Update: Addison is no longer able to talk, she communicates thru a dry erase board, she can only move one arm, sleeps a lot, her food has been cut down because her body can't handle it and she throws it up, she sleeps a lot, complains of headaches, requires a lot of suction, has a morphine pump and is now on oxygen. What does this mean: her body is shutting down, mentally she is all there but physically the tumor is taking it's toll on her brain and causing everything to quit. We have entered the late stages of progression. The question that comes up is how much time left does she have: We don't know, no one knows.

We are still welcoming visitors but with everything going on please message us before stopping by. We have also been made aware of the fact that even though she is asleep she can hear us so please, please, please please if you stop by be careful of what is talked around our baby girl.
