Help Send Archie to Antarctica

The website said "Scholarships Available", so I applied for and was accepted to the Students On Ice 2013 Antarctic Education Expedition. Got accepted, got excited, got word that the scholarships are only for Canadian students. I am an American living in Florida ("need not apply"), so I decided to put together My OWN Online "Scholarship Program" for individuals and corporate sponsors to contribute toward the $15,000 needed for Air Travel through and back from Toronto, Buenos Aires, Tierra del Fuego and the Antarctic Peninsula, room and board on the expedition Ice Breaker Ship M/V Ushuaia, educational materials, and a stack of "Chilly Weather Gear".

I'm proud to be one of only 50 high school and 50 college students selected for this trip. We will study biology, geology and other Earth Sciences at a level and setting I could not otherwise experience. My friends and family are surprised at a Florida boy seeking to spend his Christmas Break studying science some 6,000 miles away in a seemingly "Frozen Polar Wasteland" when home is warm, within sight of Coconut Palms and Manatees- but I have to go where the opportunities are greatest and the SOI Student Expedition program is truly amazing for a Natural Sciences oriented high schooler.

Previous expedition members tell me it will be a profound life changing experience. The International Travel, Advanced Field Study, Adventure with College Professors and like minded Students From Other Countries all compressed into two weeks- I believe it will cement the scope of my future College and Career choices.

My Expediton is December 28, 2013 to January 9, 2014, so I need sponsor contributions as soon as possible.
