April's Fight Against Breast Cancer

Donation protected
In late July of 2015, home from Haiti for a four month visit with their family, April Salvant was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer (triple positive/ stage I).  April will need surgery - it will either be a lumpectomy/radiation or bi-lateral mastectomy/ovaries removed and chemotherapy. (Read more about it here.)

The Salvants do not have traditional insurance, only a co-op (Samaritans Ministries). Because they have been serving as missionaries in Haiti full-time for the last 4 years, traditional health insurance was not available to them. This diagnosis and what will be required to fight the cancer means that the entire family needs to relocate to the U.S. for treatment.

Scott and April have five children and have recently relocated to Virgina. They no longer own a home or furniture, therefore they are renting a house and slowly buying/receiving some beds, furniture, and household goods.

As you can imagine, the Salvants lived in Haiti as "volunteers", meaning the did not draw a salary and were donor supported. Starting over in the USA means starting over in every way. While they search for employment and begin the long road of treatment and recovery, the Salvants could use our prayers, love, encouragement, and financial assistance.

They have given several years of their lives serving in Haiti helping others, they now find themselves in need of our help.

Please pray and consider how you might be able to help them with the overwhelming expenses and ask your friends to do the same. They appreciate it more than you know!
