Alzheimers Care for Anton Weiss

Donation protected
Anton Weiss, Nashville Artist Icon is in need of help for his memory care costs.

Hello Friends~!
As many of you already know, Anton Weiss was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2013.  Since that devastating diagnosis Anton has remained a loving, vibrant, productive and compassionate artist, friend and companion.  All donations will go towards his care strictly!

This year has been a much harder different story and in April I had to make the hardest decision of my life to move Anton into a memory-care facility, luckily, is located here in Bellevue. With this move has come many new challenges and taking care of his monetary needs has quickly become one of them.

The Anton so many of you are familiar with is a man of many beautiful attributes and his legacy lives on. His passion and teaching have been handed down to many artists including his daughter and myself!  He is a master artist, a painter,  sculptor with knowledge of multiple mediums. He has taught, mentored and helped in guiding many artist not just in TN also nationally. Anton was the spearhead and pioneer in founding, creating and supporting many groups throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s that still remain, always bringing people and artist together, both locally and nationally to explore and share the his time and knowledge. He worked tirelessly in creating juried shows always with the forethought of helping support the arts and artists of Nashville and Middle Tennessee.

Another part of Anton’s life is that he is a survivor of World War II and was placed in a Croatian Concentration Camp for 3 1/2 years of his childhood before immigrating to America in 1951. This man has overcome and given so much back to so many people.  Click here for a more detailed biography of Anton’s life.  https://issuu.com/leiperscreekgallery/docs/nashville-arts-features-anton-weiss

Here’s where I am needing your help.  My current income doesn't afford me to pay for Anton’s medical care which has included oral surgery and monthly trips to the dentist to pay for deep cleaning, out of pocket full pay for his medications because he’s in the donut hole, all his grooming needs, extra costs for his specific care needs at Brookdale. With these added on to pay for his care is staggering. Since placing Anton into memory-care I’ve had to segment my time between making a living and caregiving for him, taking him to all his Dr appointments. Because of the last 3 years of caring full time for Anton I have been so behind in my production of work to make sales. The reason is two fold, I am needing this help with his care so I can focus on creating inventory without the concern of where all his care funds will come from. I am working diligently to create and be productive so I can re-supply my galleries with my work that I haven't had time to produce. In short for me inventory means sales which will help Anton and I both for the long run.

I am seeking help from everyone, anyone that has known Anton or wants to help a person suffering from Alzheimers. He has been my beloved, my best friend, my mentor for years and I will never leave his side. I just want to give him the dignity and respect of a place that he feels secure, safe, well cared for and loved.
