Help Us Stop Counterfeiters! The Anti-Counterfeiting Educational Foundation
(ACEF), a 501(C)3 non-profit, is Making a Difference in the Battle Against Counterfeiters. ACEF is funded entirely by donations
and we need your help.
Our numismatic marketplace is encountering the largest number of counterfeit coins and paper money in history!
As collectors and investors, we search for and buy rare coins, bullion coins, paper money and other numismatic collectibles and trust that we are not being fooled by a counterfeiter.Counterfeits are a major threat to our hobby
and are known of every U.S. coin design type produced by the United States Mint since 1793. Counterfeiters target key-date classic coins, modern bullion coins, precious metals bars, and third-party grading holders with the highest brand identity. OUR MISSION:
To mobilize law enforcement resources to protect the integrity of U.S. and world coinage by educating officials on the economic impact and growing threat of counterfeits circulating in collectible, and bullion coins. ABOUT ACEF AND OUR TASK FORCE:
Before the Anti-Counterfeiting Educational Foundation (ACEF) and its task force were formed, Federal authorities did not take coin counterfeiting seriously.
ACEF assists federal, state, local law enforcement and prosecutors, allowing them to move quickly in the investigation and prosecution of cases. Our work is coordinated through a National Task Force comprised of 12 volunteer Work Groups that include experts in the various fields.
One group is the Expert Network, which is comprised of more than 90 experts that are on-call throughout the country to assist law enforcement in the identification of counterfeits. If needed, Expert Network members are also qualified to testify as experts in courts of law.
ACEF works with key sectors of the broader community involved in the precious metals industry – refiners, manufacturers, and depositories – to create awareness and coordinate educational efforts. They, as well as the dealer and collector/investor communities, are all affected by counterfeiters and the harm counterfeits inflict on the coin/precious metals marketplace.OUR SUCCESS:Launched in January 2017, ACEF’s task force has already assisted law enforcement in the investigation of more than 70 cases.
The largest case to date led to the arrest and conviction of a New Jersey man who was using Facebook and a fake law enforcement badge to gain the confidence of his would-be victims. Seizure of fake coins and bars as well as fake grading service holders from his home and from in-bound packages from China yielded a trove of counterfeits, which were valued at more than $46 million had they been sold into the market as genuine.
Through ACEF’s education and support,
law enforcement – especially on the federal level -- has begun to mobilize, preventing literally tons of counterfeit coins from entering our country. With the help of the ACEF and its Task Force, law enforcement is now able to investigate and arrest counterfeiters and their distribution networks that use the internet to sell fakes to unsuspecting buyers. YOUR DONATION MATTERS:
Our dedicated Task Force of volunteers work tirelessly to identify counterfeiters so that law enforcement can stop them from circulating “phony money”. The impact counterfeits have on the coin and precious metal markets as well as the overall economic impact on the United States is devastating. Your tax-deductible donation will help ACEF and its Task Force to continue our work in assisting law enforcement, educating both policy makers and the buying public, and stopping the counterfeiters!Donate Today!
