Anthony's Education Fund

Donation protected

Anthony P.  is a recent graduate of the Feltonville School of Arts & Sciences (FSAS). He will be attending Roman Catholic High School in the fall, but needs help with some of the financial burden. On behalf of the staff at FSAS, we would like to tell you just a little about him.

Anthony grew up in Reading, PA with his mother and 3 older siblings.  Anthony' struggled in school throughout his elementary years while none of his 3 older siblings graduated from high school. He moved to Philadelphia during the summer of 2016 and was enrolled at FSAS. Anthony had a pretty rough start to middle school, but his teachers saw something in him and began constant communication with his mother.  The school offered his mother many resources and opportunitues that Anthony began to take advantage of, and Anthony started to turn himself around. He consistently made honor roll for the end of 7th grade and ALL of 8th grade, graduating donning a silver stole for second honors. Anthony has since been accepted into a prestigious Catholic school with the aid of some really caring staff and support from his mom.

Anthony is a student who has slowly risen through all of his troubles. Through the incarnation of his siblings, being homeless and living in a shelter, and many other adversities, Anthony and his mom have gone from at times feeling hopeless, to feeling as though Anthony can accomplish all of his dreams with the right supports. He is now a motivated student, who like any other teenage boy has dreams of NBA stardom, but has also set goals for himself to research and experience different fields during HS so he can see what other opportunities exist for him.

Anthony is an avid athlete; he has played baseball, basketball and track and field during his middle school years. In addition, he was also part of the 8th grade student council, becoming a leader in his class and school.

His new HS, Roman Catholic, has awarded him the Ethel Mae Hocker Foundation Scholarship, which will cover his tuition, leaving him with a financial responsibility of approximately $1,300 each year.  Any money raised surpassing his tuition each year, will be used for books, supplies, and uniforms.

For the next four years, Anthony has received over $27,000 in scholarship, and needs your help to raise the remaining $5,000.  Anything you can give will help! We can also assure you that Anthony and his mother thank you in advance for your kind donations and messages of support!!!
