Please find it in your heart help me assist my son in fighting to recover from this horrible incident in which his from his torso to legs were crushed by a motorcycle. This is my first time creating a Go Fund Me, so again, please please forgive any errors.

Secondly, I want to thank everyone for their support and prayers since my son Anthony “AJ” Rodriguez, who is the head of household, was injured in horrible accident. I am financially overwhelmed due to the costs related to the accident.
DUE TO HIS PRESENT INSURANCE IT'S JUST NOT ENOUGH TO COVER ALL HIS MEDICAL NEEDS.

MY STORY
ON DECEMBER 23rd 2020 MY SON DIDN'T COME HOME AND I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG:
When my beloved son AJ did not come home on day before Christmas Eve, I knew that something was wrong. He left to bring some food, face mask to some friends and promise to come home to finish painting the house. Painting house was one of thoughtful gift he wanted to give me.

He never came home, all calls went straight to voice mail. I found out 2nd day someone said he got ran over by a motorcycle on Essex Street. I called every police stations, hospitals and found him at  Bellevue Hospital unconscious was told he was in coma, very critical condition, with a broken leg, broken pelvic bones in 3 places, internal bleeding, and internal organs damaged.  It was overwhelming seeing him attached to machine and mental rods attached to his hips with bags of blood.
As you might imagine, it is very hard for me to ask for help since my son is the head of household and even at his young age, 25, he has been taking care of us other responsibilities. Now, with my disability it getting hard go back and forth via public transportation especially with the rise of COVID 19.  As a mother No matter what he going to see me everyday his eye open to let him know I'm there and do whatever I can to help him.

In addition to the multiple injuries that Anthony suffered, his wallet and IDs are missing and his phone was smashed; they need to be replaced, which will take time and incur additional expenses and running around.

According to the police report, he was hit by a motorcycle, which crashed into him with direct front impact. It is extremely difficult and painful for me to see my son like this since he is an athlete and he has always been an active person skateboarding, bike riding, surfing, teaching, and models; participating in so many community activities, and his efforts in helping me to distribute face masks to the homeless, etc....
He has survived several surgeries and will require future occupational and physical therapy. I am confident that he's going to come through this difficult time but it is going to take a long time with other operations and intense physical therapy.

I am kindly asking for financial help due to medical and other unforeseen expenses such as transportation costs, necessary healthcare and hygiene products, food, etc. and whatever else AJ may need to help him heal mentally and physically.
As of now the medical bills has exhausted the insurance and maybe I should ask for more I don't know.  I'm just hoping to get enough to make him comfortable .
I am not sure of how much I have spent so far since Dec 24tgbut I have exhausted my own personal funds, but it has been costly traveling to the hospital every day since I found him.
As of Tuesday December 29th, he is out of the ICU and later has been transferred to a nursing home in Manhattan, no visitors allowed.
I will try to keep everyone updated on his progress, which is going to be a long road, but he's strong I have faith he will walk again.

Updated his 7th or 8 the I lost count operation was on week of Christmas 2022. on his right leg reconstructive leg surgery with parts from a donor.
As of today he still in physical therapy.

** Any amount you can contribute will help until we obtain other means of stable financial assistance. and sincerely appreciate the prayers, good thoughts and well wishes as well.

Thank you for your time.
