If you know Ron Finley, aka the Gangsta Gardener, you understand the vision and dedication he lives by. Ron is dedicated to empowering individuals to reclaim their health, their lives & their communities by working with each other and the transformational power of the soil.
He believes that each person on this planet has an obligation to leave their community better than they found it, and inspiring young people with this message along with equiping them with the knowledge, tools & skills necessary for that transformation is why Ron started The Ron Finley Project. (a 501c3) An organization that is dedicated to transforming culture from the ground up.
Ron has partnered with The Purpose Awards and GoFundMe to launch a new campaign in support of SEA, a Charter School in Los Angeles that also has big ideas about how young people can change the game.

SEA operates 17 educational centers throughout Los Angeles County that work with youth who are struggling academically and at high risk for delinquency, and The Purpose Awards is proud to be Ron's first donor.
The funds we raise together will go toward SEA’s purposeful curriculum and a garden for the students to thrive with and learn from.
For each 10k that we raise, The Ron Finley Project will be able to supply one school site with their very own learning garden fully loaded with organic fruits and vegetables, the tools necessary for maintenance & upkeep as well as the instruction and follow up visits to ensure that the garden and the students are thriving.
Ron envisions a world where gardening is gangsta, where barren land and littered lots are transformed into lush gardens, gardens into healthy food, healthy food into revenue that turns individuals into entrepreneurs and ultimately leads to self reliance.
