Annette Cox Surgery Fund
Donation protected
This year has been especially hard on my family and I. No one has been hit harder by this struggle than my mom, Annette Cox. My father, Jerry Cox, passed away earlier this year. This came shortly after my mother was diagnosed with Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis, (N.A.S.H.) disease. This diagnosis' course of treatment requires her to receive a liver transplant. We have been working all year to stay ahead of the medical bills and insurance payments, and it is finally looking like my mom will be getting a replacement for her liver.
The medical bills for the surgery will mostly be covered by insurance, however her living expenses during her recovery in Gainesville will not, nor will her medication for the first two months, which will be two or three thousand a month. My mom and brother, Mike Cox, will be staying in Gainesville for the first four months after her surgery. They will be renting an apartment near Shands hospital.
I cannot afford to support two households on my own. Mike will not be able to work much if at all during this time as he will be my mother's primary means of getting to and from doctors, and he will be providing anything else she will need.
We are asking for any help you can provide. I understand not everyone can afford to donate a lot, but every dollar helps. I'm honestly hoping to get enough to give my mom some peace of mind, and take a little bit of the fear and stress out of the situation for her. I thank you in advance for anything anyone can do to help during our family's time of need.
