My Gap Year Volunteering

My name is Anna Chewter and I recently graduated from a high school in Ann Arbor, MI. For years, my dream has been to take a gap year before college in order to see more of the world, of poverty, to volunteer, and through it, to find myself and God. I have been accepted to the University of Michigan and have defered, so I will begin there in Septmeber 2016. I am going to spend a month and a half in Italy tutoring a host family (http://youtu.be/DhmdJQDkpn8), and then later I will travel to Jinja, Uganda and spend three months volunteering at Amani Baby House (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1wmq1PLBAU). I truly feel called to volunteer, especially in developing countries, and I am beyond excited at these opportunities. It's had to convey how passionate I feel about this. Obviously, flights and food cost money and so any help I can get to make this year possible is tremendously appreciated. Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
