Annah's Brain Surgery Expenses
Donation protected
Recently, I was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in my cerebellum. It had to be surgically removed shortly after its discovery because it was severely affecting my ability to see, hear, walk, and my balance for months. The diagnosis came after months of trial and error testing, a few inaccurate diagnoses, time unable to work, drive, or be independant from the immediate care of my parents, and finances suffered. Although the journey to my diagnosis was drawn out and exhausting, my family has been graced with so many friends, family and community members’ thoughts, prayers, good vibes, food, and their time. With all of the support holding up my family and I, we have made it through this trying and emotional time. My mother took a week's worth off of work to take me to appointments, stay in the hospital, and be my caregiver once I came home. Due to her absence of income for that period of time, our household has been suffering as well.
The money raised will be put toward the medical costs and to help my parents get back on their feet financially. Small donations will start whittling down what I owe and accumulate to turn into a larger amount of assistance, so anything at all is appreciated. These difficult months of medical investigation and my unemployment, have caused financial problems of their own. Small gestures of getting in touch with continued thoughts and vibes, food, or company are all helpful options if money is not something you have to give.
My estimated recovery period is anywhere between 3-6 months at this point in time. Only then will I be able to return to work and be able to drive. I am doing exceptionally well for getting a major brain surgery, and I am so thankful for all the support that we have already received. The support my parents have given me through this time has been unparalleled, and receiving donations would mean so much to me. To be able to repay them for all of the expenses of mine they have already covered, and all they have given up to be there for me would be so meaningful.
