Competitive Cheer and Dance Fund

Hello, my name is Aniyah and I am a junior in high school, and am an honor roll student.  I have a passion as a competitive all-star cheerleader and dancer.  I am a part of a well-known cheer organization located in the Washington, DC area, that is faith-based, and whose mission is helping children reach their greatest potential—not only as an athlete, but also as an overall individual. 

Dance and cheer have been passions of mine since I was a little girl.  I began my dance career at my home church in New Jersey, as part of the liturgical dance ministry, which I miss so much!  I also participated in dance at a well-known dance studio where I took tap and ballet.  My family then relocated to the Washington, DC area, where Mom began to search to find the right fit in both dance and cheer for me.

Since moving here, eight years ago, I have been fortunate to cheer and dance with some of the best organizations in the DMV area.  I am now part of an organization that I feel is the best fit for me for my current skillsets and talents, today.  This organization has given me a bright outlook on my future, as I am working with some of the best coaches and trainers in the DMV!

We are currently in the thick of our competition season, which includes a lot of travel to places like Atlanta, Richmond, Myrtle Beach, and Orlando —where I am confident that we will qualify for a Summit Bid for cheer in Orlando, FL.  This means spending an entire week in Orlando, Florida.  I am very excited about our team’s potential and the possibilities ahead of us.

I have competed locally and nationally; traveling to many different states and cities including, Atlanta, Georgia; Orlando, Florida; Virginia Beach, Virginia; and many more. The United States All Star Federation (USASF) is host to The Cheerleading and Dance World Championship annually. More than 120 USASF/IASF member event producers across the U.S. and in over 40 countries around the world qualify top teams at their premier national championships to compete at The Worlds.

My goal is to continue cheering with Crimson Heat Allstars, with hopes of one day doing this professionally or opening my own studio where I can continue to express my passions and share my skill sets with others who have similar passions.  I am currently enrolled for the 2015-2016 season with Crimson Heat Flame as a cheerleader on Restricted Co-Ed Senior Level 5 team and taking level 4 tumbling with hopes of making it to the Summit championships at the end of the cheer season. 

Financial Burden

The cost to train, travel and to compete; as well as the uniforms and practice clothes that each cheerleader uses is satisfied through tuition payments submitted by the parents and collective fundraising opportunities offered by the organization. These fees typically range from $4000 - $5000.  My family has committed a significant part of our household budget for this endeavor but we are still in need of assistance to help offset the cost of tuition, travel, and hotel expenses.  We still have quite a ways to go, so that’s why I am reaching out to you — my friends, family, and community.

Family Support
 
I come from a well-rounded family, raised by my mother and an older sister who is super supportive!  Although I have a lot of family support that encourages me to stay on the right path, and be the best person that I can be, sometimes the finances are strained by extracurricular activities or sporting desires that I would like to take part in.  I am placing this ad on GoFundMe asking graciously for your support in helping to offset my expenses for travel for the remainder of the 2015-2016 competition season.  We travel to Atlanta in February, Richmond in March, Myrtle Beach in April, and Orlando in May for an entire week.
