Help Ms. Gant w/ Angello's funeral

Donation protected
Ms. Gant, the longtime paraprofessional with Ms. Barrie, has been with Robert Goddard Montessori School for more than a decade. Sadly, the youngest of her seven children, Angello, passed away on March 22nd at just 14 years old. Angello was born with a heart condition and had been on the transplant list. An RGMS student through sixth grade, he made many friends and touched many lives at our school. The RGMS PTSA has been asked to set up this campaign to help Ms. Gant with funeral expenses and to support her family during this difficult time.

His teachers shared this note about the impact he had on our school community:

Angello was Christmas joy. His big smile and bright eyes lit up a room. His kindness and loving attitude melted the hearts of all who knew him. He was always doing or saying something to make students and teachers alike at Robert Goddard Montessori School laugh.

Despite his health issues, he never complained. He would sit quietly or say he needed to rest. At school he would curl up with a pillow and blanket, waking up refreshed and ready to face the rest of the day.

He loved his stuffed animals, who watched over him as he read a story, worked on the computer or watched a video. His classmates found that delightful, one of the many truly charming things about Angello.

He was a lucky child in many ways. He was surrounded by a large and loving family. His mother and brother, Orion, were also at school and Angello took great comfort having them within reach. Everyone in school loved him and looked out for him.

The highlight of his last year at Robert Goddard was the overnight trip to North Bay. This was a very active trip for someone in fragile health, and his first overnight stay without one of his parents. He was determined to go and made the most of every minute there. His classmates, who watched over him the whole time, cheered when he rode the zipline. He came back from that trip a happy, accomplished student with a new sense of independence.

Everyone who knew Angello was changed for the better. We feel honored to have known him, and we'll never be the same.
