Support Angela's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected

This is Angela, her husband Chuck, and their two children, Kylan 5 and Karsen 3. Angela was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer at the age of 33 in December 2011.  Shortly after, she tested positive for the BRCA 1 gene mutation which means she had an 87% chance of developing breast cancer and a 54% chance of developing ovarian cancer. That winter and spring she battled through chemotherapy, a double mastectomy, radiation, and an oophorectomy; all while raising her two children who were 1 and 3 at the time. She responded to treatment and the surgeries were successful, it was great news. Then in February 2013, Angela found another lump and received the news that the cancer had returned. She completed another course of chemotherapy and another surgery to remove the lump. All of Angela's follow-up scans were clear. Until March 2014 when Angela found another lump and learned the cancer returned for a third time. She has just started her another battle of radiation and chemotherapy as the lump was inoperable. Unfortunately, Angela just moved and her oncologist is 4 hours away. So for the next 8 weeks she will be getting radiation 2x per day, 4 days a week. Then once a week, she will make the 8 hour round trip drive from Louisville, KY to Columbus, OH for her chemotherapy treatment.

It has been an extremely challenging few years for Angela, her husband, and their two young children. The fact that Angela continues to put forth the energy to raise her family and fight her aggressive cancer with the most positive attitude is inspiring. It doesn't matter how tired, sick, or worn down Angela is, she continues to put her kids first and be an amazing mother. Angela doesn't let cancer rule her life. She gives her family and work everything she has every single day. We can all learn something from Angela's story.

We have opened up this fund to assist Angela and her family financially. This fund will help with her countless medical expenses, the travel costs she is enduring each week, and child care for her children while she is undergoing treatment. Any help that we can provide to help ease the stress they are enduring as a family is greatly appreciated.
