Angela & Jon's story: In June 2015, we sought medical treatment for Jon for what we believed to be pneumonia. Our family dr immediately sent us to a cardiologist believing that Jon's inability to breathe was due to congestive heart failure. The cardiologist sent us to the hospital, where he was officially diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Fluid was drained and analyzed, and we were told on the day of discharge that there were malignant cells in the fluid. Referred to an oncologist who ran tons of tests...official diagnosis: Stage IV non squamous, non small cell lung cancer. We have been blessed to get Jon into a Stage 3 Clinical Trial for Pfizer and Jon is the first patient in the world admitted into this trial. I have had to drive him to/from all testing, labs, appointments, etc due to the fact that the medications render him sleepy and unable to drive himself safely, in addition to handling phone calls, coordination, scheduling, meaning I have been unable to work with any regularity. We just completed round 2 of chemotherapy last week (8/13/15). We have exhausted all funds for running our household and, at this point, we need some assistance just in getting our utilities up to date and basic living expenses, in addition to the shoebox full of bills from the 2 hospital stays in June. Any assistance is so greatly appreciated and every prayer you can spare as well. Thank you in advance and God Bless!
