Ana's NICU Stay

Donation protected
Dear Friends,

If you've been following Clank's Mama's blog, you know the story. If you haven't, please read today's beautiful update to learn more about Ana and her parents.

https://clanksmama.wordpress.com

Precious Ana will be in the NICU for four months. During that time, her Mom and Dad will want to spend every moment they can with her. If you've had a NICU baby, you know that it can be a very expensive proposition! Inevitably, there are meals in the overpriced hospital cafeteria. There are things grabbed on the go. There are times when you need a toothbrush and it's just better to buy one in the overpriced gift shop then to leave the hospital for several hours to get your own. And so on... Not to mention the lost work. The gas of driving to and from the hospital daily. In this case, Stephanie and Eddie live a large distance from the NICU, so they'll need to either spent a large amount on gas or procure local lodging during this long NICU stay. No matter how you slice it, this will have a huge impact on their finances. At a time where their heads and hearts are completely focused on their daughter's health and survival.

I've set the goal at $4000, which is just $1000 per month for the four months, to help them bridge the gap and help them through this time. I hope you'll join me in contributing whatever you can, however small or large. Every bit helps and it's a good chance to pay it forward to a mama who has paid her dues (and then some).

Let me tell you about this wonderful couple: They have graciously volunteered their time for several years to HAND (Helping After Neonatal Death). They have served on the board of this volunteer organization. Eddie has coordinted the yearly Service of Remembrance for several years. Stephanie has been the phone volunteer coordinator for the 'first responders' to newly bereaved parents for all our local counties.

She sings beautifully and he plays the piano beautifully and together, they provide the music for their church every Sunday. I've been to a service and witnessed it and it is beautiful and they give their whole hearts to it. It takes planning, coordinating, practicing... They do it all without any complaint.

When I brought my second baby home, who was also a preemie, Stephanie graciously volunteered to spend TEN DAYS with me in my home helping adjust to motherhood of two. This was before she knew she was pregnant with Ana and had experienced many losses and I don't know how many women would have been able to do such a generous thing, but she did and when I asked her how she was able to manage her emotions, she had only the most inspiring things to say about her faith that her time would come. Her peaceful and positive attitude was an utter revalation to me.

This is a mama who has paid it forward, who has paid her dues, who has fought like a warrior to have this baby, and deserves to spend every single moment focusing on Ana and not worrying about logistics or finances. Their miracle daughter is finally here and she has a long fight ahead of her and Stephanie and Eddie need to feel the love and support of every single person that can rally around them.

So, if you can't contribute financially, please continue to say prayers for Ana and her parents. <3
