A Miracle And Strength

Hello everyone I am writing on behalf of my brothers and I.  On March 31st our mother, Mary Ann was diagnosed with a mass near her brain stem.  That exact day it was determined she needed a shunt in the cranial area due to hydrocephalus .  The past several months has been devastating and surreal to learn that our mother has a grade 4 glioblastoma brain tumor located adjacent to her brain stem.  With a recent biopsy at Brigham and Women's hospital, and two weeks at Spaulding rehabilitation center in Boston, our mother's health has drastically declined.  Her vision is compromised, and is suffering from severe neurological complications.  She is currently undergoing chemo and radiation treatments and residing in an acute rehabilitation center.  If you know our mom, anyone can identify her as a fighter.  She raised three children and made numerous sacrifices to give, support and provide for her children.  In September our mother will be terminated from her job.  My brothers and I along with other family members are researching, networking and continuously praying that she is able to stay in a rehabilitation center as long as she can.   However if she cannot, along with that, we are in the process of accommodating her home with necessary and required equipment for her safety and comfort.  These accommodations include necessary hand rails throughout the house, a shower seat, and a mobile chair.  In addition, as we all know the expenses from medical bills continuously flow in monthly.   With this is mind, there may be a chance our mom will have to pay for cobra for a short amount of time or apply for health coverage through health sources.  If anyone has known or been a caretaker, financial concerns and worries cannot be a priority for the patient.  We appreciate all your support, love and prayers during this difficult time for our mother.  Our goal is to raise as much as we can, because no amount of money can take away her suffering but it can ease the worries of finances.
