Amber & Family lost home in fire

Donation protected
My name is Amy Varain and I am from El Dorado Hills, CA. This campaign is for my cousin Amber McCarthy In Santa Rosa, Ca. As many of you know or seen pictures about the Tubbs Fire in Santa Rosa and how it completely destroyed the Coffey Park Neighborhood.  My cousin Amber, her 4 year old son Eddie and 8 year old daughter Lily lived in Coffey Park and were among those families who lost their house & everything they have.  The picture above is all that remains of the place they once called home.  The nightmare started at 3am, being woken up to the smell of smoke and neighbors scrambling outside.  Amber quickly gathered her 2 sleeping children and ran to their car not looking back. They had no warning and only left with the clothes on their back, with no time to even grab shoes for their  feet.  I can just image what a scary feeling this was as a single mom to have to be strong for your children and react quickly in this situation.

Amber did not know at the time that within hours her home and everything she had would be engulfed in flames and burned to the ground.  The life she built up for her and her kids was all left behind including her 56 hotrod that she restored, yet had to leave behind in the garage. Yes it is all material things, but it was their material things that Amber had worked hard for, full of memories and comfort of home.

I have been talking with my cousin Amber, and even a trip to the store starts and ends in tears as the emotions are overwhelming.  She is just waiting to wake up from this nightmare.  With no direction as to where to start, she and her children will stay with her mom (my aunt) until she can pick up the pieces and start rebuilding their life.

Amber is a giving person and is normally the person putting together the care packages for others.  She is kind & humble and would never ask for help. So as her cousin, I am reaching out for her in this time of need to help get her the support and love she always gives to others.  Let's help get her funds to get the immediate basics, clothing, & housing essentials. to get back on their feet.   Anything helps, as with a single income it will not be easy and will be a long road ahead.  The money will go directly to Amber McCarthy so she can buy for her family everyday essentials, such as clothing, bedding, beds, dressers, work clothes, school supplies, shoes.

Our family appreciates your love and support through these hard times.  Thank you and many blessings to your family as well.
