Amazing Amanda Goodrich
My friend, the Amazing Amanda Goodrich, is one of the happiest, caring and most positive people I know. This woman has been smiling, talking to her friends and family trying to stay positive, and hiding her tears especially in front of her family while in an unimaginable amount of pain in her back and ankle. Amanda, her loving husband Eric, elegant daughter Ariana, and energetic son Eric Jr. need our help. I am so proud to have Amanda as one of my closest friends, one that I can count on, and she can count on me, and I am positive others feel the same. Her family is in need right now from the people around her, friends, family, loved ones and others that have the funds who can afford to help her and her Amazing family out. Ooh the amazing stories I can tell you about Amanda's life with how she and her family have helped others and Amanda and Eric being able to buy their first house she ever lived in but I am going to stick with the abrupt story I want to share with you now, about her debilitating situation that currently has her bedridden, unable to get out of bed, unable to be there for her children, for their dance practices, plays, athletic events due to the enormous amount of pain she is in. One evening, just after Christmas day, Amanda got out of bed in excruciating pain in her foot, went to the powder room and fainted. Her caring children, scared, and didn't know what to do, called 911, her husband "big" Eric by her side, she was brought to the hospital, given some pain relievers, and sent home. To this day, Amanda's pain has been nonstop at an 11, (on the scale of 1-10...while giving birth being a 9) she has still been parenting her kids all from her bed. All the while she has been unable to go to work and over time it has been harder and harder for her to get up out of bed as the pain has not subsided at all since the event began. Amanda has been waking up in the middle of the night in excruciating pain, crying, and trying to not worry her family, trying to only take her pain meds when she needs to like around bed time, and even they do not work. Oh, did I mention, Amanda works at an old age home...yup helping those that can't do the everyday life expectations on their own, making them smile, cope with what life exposes to them, and keeping things as positive and as close to the feeling of being part of a "family" as you can in an old age home. Now Amanda needs the help and assistance that she gives to her extended family at the home and her loving husband and children. What her family and work is unable to do is continue to pay all the bills, gas, food for much longer. Amanda's husband doesn't have the insurance to cover short or long term disability for a spouse; Doctors are saying she is very likely going to need back and ankle surgery, as she has a pinched nerve in her back, and a torn ankle tendon that needs to be fixed. Between all the medical copays and deductibles their financial standings are dwindling. The Goodrich's went from a two income family to a single income family. Eric has done all he can with the funds they have to keep the family afloat financially. Amanda is still in limbo as to what her issue is that is causing her horrendous pain and is looking at having both back and ankle surgery-sooner rather than later. Doctors say Amanda needs to stay in bed and is unable to go to work or drive a car. Their funds are running low and finances are extremely tight. They are receiving support from family and friends and Church to help keep some normalcy for the children, 8 year old Eric, who is as scholar already and is only in 3rd grade and plays multiple sports and 11 year old Ariana, who is a dancer and loves to be part of the drama club at school. Please consider helping my amazing friend Amanda and her amazing family. They are worried funds will dry up within the next month or so, to pay those bills, mortgage, gas, oil, and other bills while keeping food on the table. Please trust me when I say the Goodrich's will be more then grateful and will pay it forward.
