INTRODUCTION
Hello! My name is Amanda and I am an Animation student at Savannah College of Art and Design. Its one of the top schools in the nation for animation and I have been blessed to attend there. I have been attending the school since 2012 and have a 3.8 GPA. I pride myself on the ability to produce quality work that shows my passion and love for the arts as well as the cartoon world.
SUMMER INTERNSHIP
I applied for a student summer internship to the world's largest computer animation festival, SIGGRAPH 2014, and was accepted. This opportunity is rare and looks fantastic on your resume. This event will have companies such as Dreamworks, Pixar, Sony, and Disney attending and I would be able to work alongside them. This year the convention is in Vancouver, Canada. I will be a student volunteer at the event and will work 23 hours between
Aug 9-Aug 14.
A BREAK IN JULY 4th
Recently though my dreams of going to SIGGRAPH have been shattered, a burglary took place in my apartment July 4th 2014 and they stole two Mac laptops that were used for my animations, illustrations, and school. As well as the chargers and a box of money I was saving for the trip. It hurts to think I wont be able to see any of my artwork again, but to say the least insurance is going to replace the items stolen. To do that however I have to pay $1000 for the deductible, so that sets me back.
The CAUSE
Traveling to Canada is a big endeavor and I need help from you guys! I need help raising money for my plane ticket to Canada as well as the expenses for the trip so I can still be able to go experience this amazing internship that I worked hard to earn and have opportunities open for my future as an animator!
FLIGHT DETAILS
The flight is from Atlanta, Georgia (Hartsfield Jackson International Airport) to Vancouver,British Columbia, Canada and I would leave August 8th and come back August 15th.
