Alzheimer's Research

Donation protected
Three years ago, at age 68, my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. This is a diagnosis that she feared after losing her beloved brother to early-onset Alzheimer's only years before. For my mother, it is a fear of losing her best friend and mother. To me it is a fear of losing my grandmother and a terror of my mother or I developing the disease ourselves one day. To anyone who has a family history of Alzheimer's disease, it is something that we all fear (Familial Alzheimer's increases your risk of developing the disease).

Alzheimer's disease is under funded in the United States even though it is the 6th leading cause of death. Why? Perhaps it is looked at as an "older persons" disease... but did you know that the youngest person diagnosed with AD was only 27 years old? What would you do if that was YOUR child, sibling or spouse?

At the present moment, there is no cure or treatment to slow, stop, or prevent the progression of this terrible disease. That is why I would like to raise money for Alzheimer's Research.

For any of you who have had the misfortune of watching their loved one lose the ability to read, write and speak or have experienced the heartbreak of having your loved one not recognize who you are... please help me raise money for this cause. I will be donating the proceeds to the Alzheimer's Association - the world's leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer's care, support, and research.
