Philippines Disaster Relief

Donation protected
Hi,

Its been just over a month since Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines. The storm, one of the strongest ever recorded, devastated parts of the islands killing 5924 people and destroying countless buildings. There are still to date 1779 people still missing. This Christmas and New Years I have volunteered to take part in a disaster relief programme organised by Projects Abroad.

The Disaster Relief project in the Philippines will focus on areas in the northern part of Cebu Island close to the typhoon's path, including Bogo City, Tabogan, and San Remigio, all of which have been affected by the typhoon.

The main objectives of the project are to bring educational facilities that have been affected by the typhoon back to working order as soon as possible and to help out in the community while staying with a host family. Any donations to help support this cause would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Altaz

More details on my specific project and where the money will be going:
The Disaster Relief Project will be geared towards reconstruction and repair of the educational infrastructure in the northern towns of Cebu. Our aim is to repair school buildings and care centers and help look after the children while their parents help with the recovery efforts.

According to the Department of Education, Cebu province reported that a total of 874 classrooms in northern Cebu were destroyed by the typhoon.
We are concentrating our efforts in Bogo City and working in coordination with the Schools District Supervisor "“ Division 2. They have identified two schools that need immediate reconstruction and repair:
1.) Don Pedro Elementary School ( 447 students)
2.) Bung-aw Elementary School and DCM Taytayan Integrated School (266 students) students)
