Allie's Breast Cancer Surgery Fund

Donation protected
We, Mike, Dana, Tom and Deanne are providing this page on behalf of our close friend Allison Halso, aka “Bad Allie”.

On July 3, 2017, Allie was diagnosed in having 3 areas of two types of Stage 2 cancer in her right breast.  Allie is a 47yr old meticulous home maker, a tenacious loving mother of two teen boys and a devoted wife to her one and only husband of 23 years, Steve Halso.

Steve and Allie are longtime hardworking blue collar workers.  Steve, 6 days a week at 5am commutes 100 miles roundtrip for his fulltime job in freight forwarding.

Allie is always working, if she isn’t painting or cleaning somebody’s house then she is at one of her 2 bartending jobs.  Yes, I said TWO bartending jobs.  Allie has been bartending in clubs since she was in her 20’s and she loves it to this day. Allie commutes over an hour to where she bartends.  She usually leaves by 6pm and is home by 3:30am.  She gets up with her son, Reese, at 6:30am to drive him to school.  I asked her one time, “Al, why don’t you let them take the bus so you can sleep in?” She replied, “Because I get time with my sons and that’s OUR time”.

To be a decent bartender, you must be tentative, fast and accurate in your service.  An excellent bartender makes your drink an experience, either by friendly conversation, listening to their patron, or finding a way to share a smile.  That’s where Allie excels, she has that quick wit that will stop you dead in your tracks leaving you with no other option but to laugh.  She has a personality that exudes happiness and fun, she loves to make people laugh. She too enjoys a good laugh, so if you are quick witted, you may get to experience the “Allie Snorting Belly Laugh”, it is hilarious.

Let me explain, “Bad Allie” for a moment. Despite the fact that Allie is the epitome of a blonde bombshell, she would never describe herself as such!  She has a co-bartender named Allie who also fits the same description.  So to distinguish between the humorous spontaneous instigating funny bartender (our Allie) and the more reserved bartender, the nicknames “Good Allie” and “Bad Allie” were born.

Like I said before, Allie is always working.  If she isn’t doing one of her “jobs”, she is outside working in her yard or cleaning her house and most importantly and the thing she loves the most, being a Mom to her children.   One thing about Allie, even with her busy schedule she is always the first one to help someone else.  She will put her chores or needs aside and take care of someone else’s’ needs before hers.  For her, its about helping and not the return favors or acceptance of help….even if she is struggling financially.

Allie is currently being scheduled for a full mastectomy of her right breast of which will prohibit her from performing her jobs while undergoing treatment and recovery. Allie’s primary source of income is derived on tips that makes up nearly 50% of the family’s income. Although the stress of the unknown has entered her life, she continues to work and will do so until she is no longer able.  All the while … smiling and laughing even in the face of this challenge!

We are setting up this fund to support Allie and her family as she prepares for this fight.  With the already mounting medical bills, we hope that you will donate to their cause in an effort to alleviate the some of the financial burden of medical expenses. (Think of it as an extra little tip while she is out for all the smiles she generates while she works!)

ALLIE SAYS CANCER SUCKS!

The Halso’s are proud hard working people.  I asked their permission to build this page of which they were reluctant, but eventually accepted the offer.  I know they would do this for any one of their friends or family.  From the bottom of our hearts we ask on their behalf, please find it in your heart to contribute to their financial survival.  No amount is too small and graciously accepted!

We know Allie is going to beat this horrible disease!!!!  With the warmest love, compassion and prayers, we are asking for everyone’s support…
