My name is Alli J. Moran and I am a 24 year old Lakota woman and member of the Cheyenne River Lakota Nation (Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe) located in South Dakota. I grew up on both the Cheyenne River Sioux reservation and the Standing Rock Sioux reservation. I am a recent college graduate of the Institute of American Indian Arts with a Bachelors Degree in Indigenous Liberal Studies. It is an honor to represent the Očéti Šakówin (Lakota/Dakota/Nakota Nation) and the great State of South Dakota!
Recently, at the State Democratic Caucus I was selected as the #1 delegate from District 28 to stand by in strong support of Bernie Sanders, as a national delegate at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Philadelphia July 25-28, 2016.
I estimated the cost of $4000 due to the high costs of flights to and from the DNC, meals, taxi, hotel stay and other travel expenses. The DNC delegate package alone is priced at $2000 and I am asking for your support to help me represent not only the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe and the State of South Dakota but to be a strong voice with the many Native Nations and States represented at the DNC.
I am thankful for the tremendous support I have received thus far and I am appreciative of any financial support I receive to advocate for the Očéti Šakówin and the great State of South Dakota at the DNC.
