As we embark on this holiday season, year after year it has always been a passion of mine to raise awareness and donations for causes that are important to me. This year I would like to continue bringing light to a cause that was also important to my brother, Allen.
Many of you know that in August we painfully said goodbye to Allen at the age of 37, due to sudden cardiac arrest. It has been a difficult few months for our family but, we keep our spirits high, as that is what he would have wanted. Also, for us to continue honoring and remembering him for his care for others, not only family and friends but, for all people from every walk of life. Allen had a contagious personality that would attract so many people. He was social, kind, generous and above all genuine. A cause that has always been special for me was also very special for him as well. He had a sincere devotion to providing assistance to the homeless. It wasn’t necessarily always in the monetary sense however, also came in forms of donating food/items, purchasing items from them, or even just simply engaging in conversation to brighten their day. He took the time out of his day so frequently to respect and be kind to so many people in need of just a friendly hello.
To honor Allen’s kindness and generosity during the holidays this year we have decided to continue raising awareness and donations for the Los Angeles Mission. The past few years during the holidays, I have found a passion for donating time volunteering as well as fundraising efforts for The Los Angeles Mission, a homeless shelter located in downtown Los Angeles. “The Los Angeles Mission exists to provide help, hope and opportunity to men, women and children in need. Our vision is to see individuals and families set free from addictions and homelessness, transformed by God to become physically and spiritually health.”
The donations received will be used to purchase toiletries, clothing, and food for the homeless. Thank you so much for your time and consideration with this important cause for our community and Allen. I am so incredibly proud to continue honoring his kindness in every way possible.
All donations are tax deductible. You will receive an email with your donation amount and our tax id from Allen’s non-profit, ‘Aladdin Forever.’
