UKEAS ride for Belle’s mum

On Friday, 16 October, a trio of UKEAS leaders (Graham, Jesus, and Piet) will be cycling to the top of Wuling Pass, the highest mountain pass reachable by road East of the Himalayas.  Well – we hope to make it there at least! Starting in Puli and climbing nearly 3000 metres over a 50km stretch will be a challenge.

 

We not taking up the challenge for masochistic reasons, but for a charitable one. Belle Yuzon, a wonderful counsellor in our Manila office, has a very sick Mum who has been hospitalised with Non-Small Cell Lung Carcinoma. In the Philippines, high quality treatments are very expensive and this situation has put a big burden on Belle and her family.  

 

We encourage everyone to donate, whether it be £5, 50 ringgit, 500 naira, 5000 NTD, or 500,000 Vietnamese Dong. All donations will be gratefully received. To get things started, Piet has pledged $300 towards the goal. He will add another $200 if he makes it and $300 if he doesn’t!
