Alicia’s Art Residency

I’ve been accepted to attend an art residency in Cassis, France in February of 2018! Yay! For those of you who follow my artwork, the last two years I’ve been focusing mostly on collage and mixed media.  More recently, I’ve begun to incorporate more hand drawn elements, lettering, and illustration into my collage work, and I continue to be drawn to vintage and antique papers, magazines, typography, and advertising to use in my work. 
This residency would allow me to travel and spend time in an inspirational setting with other artists to create and experiment with my own work. I hope to make time to spend a few days in Paris before going to Cassis, to research at the Pompidou Center and gather supplies (mostly vintage French ephemera such as newspapers and paper bits) to use in my work while in Cassis. I will then travel to Cassis by train, spending two weeks at the residency for art work, collaboration, and experience.
Between travel and housing costs, I’m reaching out to you to make this experience possible for me. Not only will it be a great experience and something to add to my relatively sparse CV,  but I’m aiming to make it a catalyst for a body of work that I can in turn exhibit and build my portfolio with. 
I am so excited for this opportunity, and the idea of being able to create in a place like Cassis, network and collaborate with other artists, and explore my artistic style would be amazing. Every little bit helps, and I hope you will consider supporting me.
