Pong and Jo Anabelle Fernandez have been dear friends of mine for the past few years. They are truly two of the most humble people I've ever met...always giving themselves and their resources as much as they can, to those around them.
Last week, their momma, Alice Fernandez, was taken into the emergency room one evening to treat what they believed was simply kidney stones. Unfortunately, this led to other severe organ damage, failure, infections, and she was taken from her sweet family 5 days later. It was a very sudden and unexpected chain of events leaving them not only grieving, but also with a heavy financial burden.
Alice and her widowed husband Winnie have both lived with Pong, Jo and their 3 children and under their sole support. As with any loss, there can come much hardship and a long journey for the family to endure. For this family, the medical and funeral expenses are a big concern for them.
Everyone needs different things during life events like this, and in their case this family needs financial help to pay for medical bills, crematory arrangements, a small celebration of life for closure to the family and expenses for Winnie to take his deceased wife back to her home in the Philippines.
