My name is Lorna Sharpe, I am fundraising on behalf of my dear friends, Cheree and Steven Sharpe. If you have found this page then you probably already know their little boy, Alfie.

After 30 incredibly hard months of gruelling treatments and uncertain outcomes Cheree and Steven recently received the news that Alfie had beaten Neuroblastoma "“ a miracle! After two and a half years theirwildest dreams had come true . . .

I watched on as the news slowly began to sink in; Cheree and Steven started to believe that Alfie truly had managed to escape the cruel clutches of this awful disease. They made plans for the future "“ a holiday to start with, Alfie chose to visit Turkey, then they dared to imagine days at school, Alfie meeting new friends and reclaiming the "˜normal' childhood that he has missed out on for so long.

But it was not to be. Just a fortnight after being given the all clear, Alfie had relapsed. The disease that he had fought so bravely has made an aggressive return and Alfie's doctors told his parents that his condition is now terminal, their best advice now was for them to enjoy their beautiful boy and make the time they have together as special as possible.

Both Alfie's mummy and daddy gave up their jobs in 2011 to ensure that they were by Alfie's side throughout every treatment, a move that has no doubt played a massive part in the fact that Alfie has spent the last 30 months becoming a charming, personable, and happy little boy, who has had people all over the world in awe at his bravery and resilience. The consequence of their 2011 decision is that Alfie's parents now need help in funding as many of Alfie's wildest dreams as possible, in the short time in which he will be well.

Alfie has been an inspiration to our whole community and even wider still, he has kept on smiling throughout everything, he has welcomed so many people into his life and allowed us all to share in his journey - taking us to the lowest brink of despair and then back to the unbeatable joy of simple things like snuggling into his blankets and eating his favourite foods!! Reminding us all that we have so much to be thankful for - thankful not only that Alfie has had the strength and courage to challenge such an awful disease, but thankful also to live as part of a now international community who are united in our love and prayers for such a special boy who we can all learn so much from.

All monies raised on this site are donated directly to Alfie's parents to help Alfie enjoy special times with those who love him.

I cannot express enough how thankful we are for everyone's continuing support, I know Cheree and Steven are overwhelmed with all of the kind messages they have received,
