Some of you know our story.....like many others we have found ourselves in a situation the last few years we did not expect or ask for....yet here we are. We have done all we can to deal with the situation ourselves. We believe that we all need to be responsible and help ourselves as much as we can, but sometimes you just have to ask for help. As much as I have tried to avoid it, this latest setback is one of those times for us. This is not easy for us, but in the process of "getting back on our feet" our 11 yr old daughter has suffered a serious knee injury.
Not only is the injury serious, but it is rather rare and is going to require surgery by a pediatric specialist. We are told that the best pediatric orthopedic surgeons in the country may only see this 2 or 3 times a year. Not only that, it is a technically challenging surgery to repair the damage properly so that growth plates are not affected and the future health of the knee is not compromised. If you have seen her run or play soccer, you know this is a big deal.
My hope is not only for my daughter that she will recover and be able to develop fully, but that my faith in goodness and generosity of others will be raised. This is a critical time that needs to be handled properly and quickly or the rest of her life will be affected. I pray that God will enter your heart and help us in our time of need. P.S. Most doctors offer a sizable discount if payment is made in full at the time of service....Please give what you can as soon as you can....It will help keep the costs to a minimum....We will be eternally grateful!
Below is another picture of her being my pacer for the last few miles of a 50 mile race I did just over a year ago.... it was very special to be able to share this with her and hope to do many more in the future.
