Here's me when I started Scouting. I was six, and in first grade.
And here I am now!
Hi!
My name is Alex Davani, I'm 14 and will be entering the 9th grade in the Fall. I'm currently a Life Scout with Troop 12 of the Boy Scouts of America. I have 71 Merit Badges, (you're required to have 21 badges to qualify for Eagle status) have served as my Troop's Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, and now serve as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader of Activities.
Scouting has been a very important part of my life since I was six years old, in first grade. I have worked hard to achieve all requirements to proceed with promotion to Eagle Scout, the highest rank in scouting. Only 1-4% of all Scouts nationwide achieve the rank of Eagle.
One of the requirements for promotion to Eagle is to perform a project for the benefit of the community or a non-profit group. My project is to rebuild and upgrade the children's sink/drinking fountain structure at the Lutheran Church of the Cross Preschool. The current sink is twenty years old, leaking, unsightly and not ADA-compliant for children with disabilities.
Lutheran Church of the Cross has been an important place for my family for many years. I was baptized there, and so was my sister Katie. My Nana & Papa also attend this church and Katie just finished preschool there. Both Scouting and this church and its preschool are a very important part of my life.
I need the help of my family and friends to make my project a reality. The materials and professional labor necessary to complete it total $1750.00. If you are willing and able to donate to my project, I would greatly appreciate it. Any amount, even $10, will help.
In the past, I have worked hard to accomplish goals I've set for myself. I'm currently a 1st Dan Black Belt in Taekwon-Do, made honor roll every semester during my middle school years with perfect attendance (except just one day missed in eighth grade) and I just received the President's Award for Educational Excellence - 2013, signed by President Obama. I'm hoping that achieving the rank of Eagle is another lifetime goal that will come true for me.
