Alan's Rally and Recovery

My name is Alan Ferreira. I live in Dinuba, CA, and I’m a student at Roosevelt Elementary School.  On February 10th I was diagnosed with cancer. I had a tumor removed from my brain.  Each morning during the week my mom drives me to Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera so I can get radiation treatment.  Every two weeks, I get chemotherapy treatment.


I am a fifth grader. I like the Raiders. My favorite players are Derrick Carr and Aldon Smith. I enjoy the WWE, and I like John Cena. I enjoy playing playing Halo and NFL  on Xbox. My two brothers attend Dinuba High School (Victor and Eric), and my sister (Michelle) goes to Washington Intermediate School. My dad works in the fields, and my mom sells Amway products.


They work very hard and take care of me. I love my family very much. I enjoy playing with my friend, Ethan. I miss going to school. My teacher works with me at my family’s apartment a few hours a week.

We wanted to set up a gofundme site so we can help with the costs of taking Alan back and forth to the hospital. It’s a very long drive,  It takes a lot of time and gas to go back and forth! We hope to get enough funds to cover some of these expenses.


Our family has a strong faith. We attend Saint Catherine’s Church in Dinuba. We have a strong faith in God, and we know, with trust in the Lord, we can overcome this challenge. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

Mi nombre es Alan Ferreira. Yo vivo en Dinuba, CA, y yo soy un estudiante de la Escuela Primaria Roosevelt. El 10 de febrero me diagnosticaron cáncer. Tenía un tumor removido de mi cerebro. Todas las mañanas durante la semana mi mamá me conduce al Hospital de Niños del Valle en Madera para que pueda obtener un tratamiento de radiación. Cada dos semanas, recibo un tratamiento de quimioterapia.

Soy un estudiante de quinto grado. Me gustan los Raiders. Mis jugadores favoritos son Derrick Carr y Aldon Smith. Disfruto de la WWE, y me gusta John Cena. Me gusta jugar al juego Halo en Xbox y la NFL. Mis dos hermanos asisten Dinuba High School (Victor y Eric), y mi hermana (Michelle) va a la Escuela Intermedia Washington. Mi papá trabaja en el campo, y mi mamá vende productos de Amway.

Ellos trabajan muy duro y cuidan de mí. Quiero a mi familia mucho. Me gusta jugar con mi amigo, Ethan. Echo de menos ir a la escuela. Mi maestro trabaja conmigo en el apartamento de mi familia de unas pocas horas a la semana.

Quisimos crear un sitio web gofundme para que podamos ayudar con los gastos de Alan para las idas y vueltas al hospital. Son idas muy largas, que lleva mucho tiempo y gasolina para ir y venir! Esperamos obtener suficientes fondos para cubrir algunos de estos gastos.

Nuestra familia tiene una fe fuerte. Asistimos a la iglesia de Santa Catalina en Dinuba. Tenemos una fuerte fe en Dios, y sabemos, con la confianza en el Señor, podemos superar este reto. Gracias por sus pensamientos y oraciones.
