I have reached my goal.Thank God foremost. Thank god for putting it in all my supporters heart to help me chase my dreams. I will continue to push my campaign and raise money up until I have left the country (September 25).
All donations till then will help me leave from Ireland and go to another country while in Europe to tryout with other teams while Im there. I figure I make the best of my situation while there maximizing the opportunity to the fullest. So with that being said I am greatly appreciative of all the donations thus far. All future donations will go to travel within Europe after Ireland(hotel + flight).
Hello everyone my name is Ajay Rutledge. I have been blessed to play the game I love on a professional level once before. It has been some experience. Both ups and downs. Although I have experienced more downs then ups due to lies and bad people I still believe I will make it to a great situation and to where I want to be.
For the past two years I have played in Mexico(Chihuahua Vive). That league is getting bigger a better every year. Playing there I got my first professional basketball experience. My first year playing there was one for the ages went through a rough patch but we eventually pulled it together and made a great run to lose to the eventual champs in the semifinals. I went home having been owed some 2500 bucks and having been lied to straight to my face. The money didn't hurt as much as being lied to by people you considered family did.
The following season I came back to the same team having prayed about it that things would be different and I would forgive them for the past year but instead it was worse. I had to quit the team due to lies again this time. They refused to pay me what we agreed on and didn't even pay for my flight back home. While traveling by bus back to rochester which took 3 days(I paid for) I got word my stepdad was in the hospital and doing very bad. As I get ready to transfer to my final bus in Buffalo I get word he passed. That alone hurt but the fact my team made the whole situation worse because prior to that I told them I wanted to go home because things weren't right with the team. I had no clue he was suck but that just made it even worse and urgent to get back.
It took alot for me to get back on the horse with basketball. I felt like quitting but this summer I had a great summer playing in the SPL NBA sanctioned summer league in LA. I got my passion back to do what I love. I was invited to two private closed individual workouts with Dleague teams after that summer league but I had to decline due to no money to travel to these tryouts. Missed opportunities once again but I know I just need to take advantage of one opportunity just one.
So now I'm trying to get to Europe for the ESPN Belfast tour.It starts the 27th but I need to fly out by the 25th. I am asking for any help at all. It will be greatly appreciate. With the money I receive I plan to travel to the country and it will pay for hotel, food and travel within the country for the 5 days Im there. This is my last real opportunity before the last few leagues start.
