Ajai Needs A Kidney

My 16 year old daughter Ajai is in desperate need of a kidney transplant from a living donor. Diagnosed with FSGS, an autoimmune disease similar in nature to lupus at the age of 9. She was treated with medication for several years before starting dialysis in 2007. Ajai started out on peritoneal dialysis and progressed to hemodialysis. She now receives treatment 3 days a week. 4-5 hours a day.
Lately we have experienced multiple complications with her fistula which makes dialysis more difficult. Transplant is our only option.
Ajai is the only girl in the family with an older brother,younger brother, mom and step-dad who has actively served 20 years as a sailor ins the United States Navy. We are currently stationed in Virginia Beach and she is actively listed in Virginia and we are currently being evaluated in North Carolina for Duke Children's Center. You can reside anywhere in the United States of America for testing. Ajai's blood type is B+, donors with the blood type B and O are most compatible.
Ajai has endured most of her childhood, preteen and now teenage years BATTLING this disease and now just wants to be a NORMAL teenager more than anything. The ULTIMATE SWEET SIXTEEN gift would be the "Gift of Life". Experiencing dialysis and the wait for a kidney is a chaalenge for any adult, imagine it from the perspective of a child.
The need for a living donor is crucial as Ajai received a kidney in 2010 from a family friend and lost it after 3 days, these caused her body to build antibodies. With a living donor physicians will have the the time needed to medicate her and bring her antibodies down to match the levels of the donor as close as possible. With a cadavar donor there is no time for this process to occur.
The funds will be used to help with medical costs not covered for Ajai and the donor. It will also help with living/traveling/medcial expenses of the donor. The donor will be unable to work for 6-8 weeks. We have a "potential" donor from another state that is being evaluated and the funds raised would cover cost to get donor to center, hotel/living expenses etc.
