Do you have Sickle Cell Anemia? Do you have loved ones or family members that are suffering from this disease? Have you ever known anyone to die from this disease?
Well I do! My sister Aisha Camphor was born with this disease and has been living with it for the past 29 years. Sickle Cell Anemia is a blood disorder that affects hemoglobin, the protein found in the red blood cells that help carry oxygen throughout the body.
Throughout Aisha's life, she has been in and out of the hospital suffering from pain crises. She has received several blood transfusions and survived 2 acute chest syndromes which were near-death experiences.
At the age of 15, Aisha was diagnosed with AVN (Avascular Necrosis) in both hips. AVN occurs when the blood flow in the body is interrupted, causing the cells in the bone to die. AVN has stopped the growth in Aisha's right leg, and as a result of this she has been scared with a permanent limp.
Over the years, the deterioration of cartilage in her hip joint combined with multiple crippling pain crises has brought Aisha to need a Total Hip Replacement Surgery.
We are reaching out to ANY and EVERYONE to donate funds for Aisha to get this surgery. Aisha currently lives in Dubai.

We know your first question may be: Does her insurance cover it? The answer is NO. Aisha does work, but her insurance on her job does not cover any pre-existing conditions. This is why we are in NEED OF YOUR HELP!
