Aikens Family Fire Relief Fund

Donation protected

On Tuesday, January 2nd, the Aikens family home caught fire.  Flames quickly engulfed the roof from the attic.  Fire fighters from three agencies responded but temperatures were so cold that water from the hydrant quickly froze.

One of the neighbors saw the blaze and alerted the Aikens's mother, who suffers from two broken hips and is dependent on using a walker.  Everyone is safe but the house was completely destroyed;  the Aikens lost everything.

The Aikens were given the house as a gift; they were in the process of transferring all the ownership documents but they did not yet have insurance on their home.

They have lost so much that can never be replaced.

I live in this neighborhood in East Limestone County in Alabama; I felt so helpless watching this home burn.  It could have been any one of us in the neighborhood.

The Aikens family will have sole access to the funds that are donated.  They will use this money to rebuild their home and put their lives back together.

Please donate what you can to help them rebuild.
