<div>Audrey, infirmière auxiliaire de 26 ans qui travaille au bloc opératoire de Sainte-Justine, traverse à nouveau la même crise. Après une première reconstruction de l'articulation, son ankylose osseuse (un blocage sévère de l'articulation) est revenue, lui causant des douleurs atroces. Le 7 avril 2026, elle a dû subir une chirurgie de révision très agressive de six heures, suivie immédiatement de cinq jours de radiothérapie pour s'assurer que l'os ne fusionne pas à nouveau. Déjà affaiblie par ses combats médicaux précédents, Audrey était au bout de ses forces. Elle fait maintenant face à un lourd traumatisme physique, incluant d'importante douleures, l'incapacité de se nourrir correctement et une grande difficulté à reprendre du poids. Pour aggraver ses souffrances, Audrey a dû être réhospitalisée à plusieurs reprises et a été confrontée à de graves erreurs médicales et éthiques, notamment des médications prescrites qui lui ont été refusées et une nutrition négligée. De plus, Audrey a récemment reçu un diagnostic de Dysautonomie, une maladie du système nerveux autonomique qui provoque de graves chutes de pression, des anomalies du rythme cardiaque, des nausées et des étourdissements chroniques. Un diagnostique d'insuffisance surrénalienne qui peux être dangeureux si non contrôlé. Maintenant sous investigation car malgré la récente chirurgie et radiothérapie, de nouvelles masses osseuses recouvre toute sa machoire et des diagnosticiens et généticiens mondiale s'occupe pour trouver un traitement. Comme ses symptômes ne sont pas encore sous contrôle, elle ignore complètement quand elle pourra retourner au travail.

<div>Ce fardeau physique s'accompagne d'une détresse financière écrasante. En arrêt de travail depuis février avec seulement une partie de son salaire, elle n'a jamais pu se rétablir financièrement des interventions passées. Malgré l'incroyable générosité des gens qui ont déjà donné, les coûts croissants de la physiothérapie spécialisée, de la thérapie psychologique, des appareils thérapeutiques et des médicaments ont laissé Audrey et son conjoint profondément endettés, les obligeant finalement à quitter leur appartement pour pouvoir survivre. Audrey ne souhaite rien de plus que de se rétablir, de vivre sans douleur et de retourner à ce métier d'infirmière auxiliaire qu'elle aime tant. Tout l'argent accumulé iras vers les médications, traitements, coûts de voyagement possible et équipement médicale nécéssaire à Audrey.

<div>Audrey, 26-year-old operating room nurse at Sainte-Justine, is once again facing the same crisis. After a previous joint replacement, her severe joint stiffening (bony ankylosis) returned, causing excruciating pain. On April 7, 2026, she underwent an aggressive, six-hour revision surgery, followed immediately by five days of radiation therapy to prevent the bone from fusing again. Already weakened by her previous medical battles, Audrey’s body was pushed to its absolute limit. She now faces severe physical trauma, including severe pain, an inability to eat properly, and a struggle to retain weight. Audrey endured multiple re-hospitalizations marked by medical and ethical errors, including withheld medications and neglected nutrition.

<div>To make matters worse, Audrey has recently been diagnosed with Dysautonomia, a nervous system disorder that causes severe blood pressure drops, heart rate abnormalities, nausea, and chronic dizziness and a diagnosis of Adrenal insufficiancy which can be dangerous if not properly controled. In spite of the agressive surgery and radiotherapy, the bone masses have come back all over her jaw and we have diagnosticians and geneticians accross the world to find treatment. Because her symptoms are not yet under control, she has no idea when she will be able to return to work.

<div>The physical toll has been matched by a crushing financial strain. Audrey has been on medical leave since February on reduced pay, and she has never been able to fully recover financially. Despite the incredible generosity of those who have already donated, the mounting costs of specialized physiotherapy, psychological therapy, medical equipment, and medications have left Audrey and her partner in deep debt, ultimately forcing them to leave their apartment just to survive. Audrey wants nothing more than to recover, live without pain, and return to the nursing profession she loves so much. The money will go to all her treatments, medications, possible cost of traveling for treatment, helping with accumulated debt from all previous surgery and all medical equipment needed.
