Help Aiden Beat Retinoblastoma!

Donation protected
On December 9, 2012 the two most precious gifts came into our lives.... Colleen and Aiden were finally here!! On December 18,2012 our lives were turned upside down. We heard the words that no parent ever wants to hear... "Aiden has Cancer". Aiden has Retinoblastoma a rare cancer that effects his eyes. Since January of 2013 Aiden has had to have monthly exams under anesthesia to see if any tumors are growing. It was April 17 2013 that the first tumor was found. Up until now the tumors have responded well to both laser and cryotherapy (freezing) treatments. Unfortunately one of those stubborn little buggers isn't responding to laser anymore and Aiden has to start chemotherapy. Unfortunately our insurance doesn't cover everything. We are also uncertain about the future of my job. I have only been with my company for 6 months and am not eligible for FMLA. So far they have been great about giving me the time off that I need but I've completely run out of any paid time off I had accrued. To look at Aiden it is hard to believe he is even sick. He is such a happy kid who enjoys playing, laughing, and dancing. His favorite game is peek-a-boo... he and Colleen play it all the time! He loves watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and even does his own version of "The HotDog Dance!!" We are truly hopeful that the chemo won't change this too much. The outpouring of love and support from our familes and friends has been so overwhelming to Jason and I. We are truly blessed. We will continue to update Aiden's journey to recovery!!!
