Aiden's Doc Band

Aiden was born 3 and 1/2 months premature, as most of you who know me already know. He spent the first 4 months of his life in NICU, 3 of which he was on a ventilator. He has had 4 surgeries; on his heart (PDA), his eyes twice, and his stomach. He has beaten all the odds, not just by surviving, but by thriving. After all he has been though, and the challenges he has already overcome, he now needs a medical device to correct his malformed skull.
Plagiocephaly, in his case, is the result of his premature skull being subjected to the forces of gravity too early... long before it should have been, and while it was too soft to hold its correct form. You can see it in the bulging on the front left of his forehead (top) in the picture; though you cannot see the flattening on the back of his head that coincides with it. He needs a medical device known as a "doc band" that will correct how his skull continues to grow, and it will correct his skull before it gets too hard, and the bones fuse; at which time the plagiocephaly will be uncorrectable, and Aiden will have to live with the medical consquesces of plagiocephaly the rest of his life; or in a worse case scenario; surgery.
Insurance will not cover it, nor will insurance cover the costs of the multiple trips to the nearest clinic in Dallas/Ft.Worth where he can get treatment. The doc bands are expensive, and they are custom made for each individual to meet that baby's needs. We are a single income family, and though I recently graduated with my BA in English, I have yet to start my new career. Quite frankly, this is the only reason we are asking for help; because without it, we cannot get Aiden the treatment he needs, and in the time frame in which he needs it.
