Hygiene Items For Harvey Evacuees

Because of the devastating floods and tornadoes that resulted from Hurricane Harvey, entire homes and communities have been destroyed, leaving many families with nothing.

As a result of these catastrophic events, thousands of people have been forced to evacuate and seek safety.

Emergency shelters in the Houston area are housing evacuees, but many of these safe houses are overcrowded and struggling to keep up with the high volume of people being displaced by the storm.

To illustrate: The George R. Brown Convention Center in Downtown Houston is currently over capacity, housing more than 10,000 people; more than half do not have cots and cannot sleep in comfort. Many more are lacking basic necessities that we take for granted. Your donations will help provide hygiene products and other supplies to Harvey evacuees in shelters throughout Houston.

URBNLNKZ is a Houston based outreach organization devoted to improving local communities and promoting social consciousness through activism. We partner with other service organizations and work non-exclusively with a wide range of communities. For this relief effort, we want to help as many people in as many places as we can. Below are only some of the shelters your donations will help:

- George R. Brown Convention Center
- West End Multi-Service Center
- Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center
- Sunnyside Multi-Service Center
- Trotter Family YMCA
- M.D. Anderson Family YMCA

Items provided through your donations include:

- Diapers
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
- Toilet Paper
- Pads / Tampons
- Blankets
- Towels
- Soap
- Deodorant
- Water
- Pet food

We will also be donating other necessities and hygiene products based on the needs of local shelters.

As a thank you for your contributions, all donors will receive a link to a digital portfolio that will contain photos, videos and other content detailing our interactions and updates as we provide assistance and help communities recover over the next few months. We hope this digital portfolio will help you experience the joy of helping those in need, while also providing a lifetime reminder of the positive impact your donation had during this historic, yet tragic event.
