AGING & HIV: A Story of Resiliency will be a feature documentary available for free download to community groups and organizations world-wide - via a website with teaching tools for community-based, community building. Pending funding, we will subtitle the film in multiple languages. The AIDS Committee of Windsor is a parter and can offer tax receipts for donations - email [email redacted] for this request. All donors are to be listed in film credits.
To date, the persons living with HIV/AIDS (PHAs) in the film who have shared their powerful stories are from southern Ontario: Jack Haight, Eli Martin, Mark McCallum, Joanne Schingh, Gregory Scratch and Donald Turner. Michael Brennan, AIDS Committee of Windsor, and Sean Rourke, Ontario HIV Network (Toronto), share expert opinions. Kenny Gbadebo (Youth Connection Association) speaks on behalf of newcomers. Others will be included in the full feature film.
AIDS funding and programs today have changed, and many seniors living with HIV/AIDS are isolated and/or without support. Additionally, many long-time survivors, as shown in our film, have strong, heart-felt messages for the newly diagnosed.
A 20-minute preview of the film was evaluated by 100 people in Windsor, Chatham and Sarnia. The response was very positive, and we were encouraged to complete the project - for which financial support is necessary.

The film was conceptualized and is being directed/produced by Amanda Gellman, former Director of the AIDS Committee of Windsor who was also active with the Ontario AIDS Network and the Canadian AIDS Society in the 90s, and served on the Founding Committee of AIDS Walk Canada. Amanda is today the CEO of MANAN Media, the Producer of Film Camp for Kids & Youth, and the Chair of the Windsor Centre for Film, Digital Media & the Creative Arts.
The film crew includes: Emilio Carro, Cinematographer; Nicole Gellman, Editor; Paul Woolley, Contributing Cinematographer; Ian Smith, Music and Vocal; Gregory Scratch, Lyrics; Avonlea Smith, Vocal; and Ines Cherif and John Groundwater, Artwork.
