Birthland Tour
Donation protected
I am fundraising to take a birthland trip to South Korea. I was adopted at the age of 3 to an American family. It has long been my dream to go back to South Korea to reconnect with the culture I missed out on.
My trip will include going to Seoul to visit Holt Orphanage and to see if I can meet my foster mother. After spending time in Seoul, I plan to take a trip to Pusan. Pusan has a special place in my heart because I believe that I was born there.
During my trip, I plan to make a mini video documentary to explore adoption and discuss issues around identity from the perspective of a person with a disability. With the help of some friends, I plan to edit it and share it so that other adoptees and families who have adopted can gain a new perspective on the experiences of adult adoptees.
Your donations will go towards trip costs (about $2500 for airplane flights and hotel costs) and documentary equipment costs (about $500 to rent camera equipment).
Thank you so much for your generosity! I look forward to sharing my experiences with the world.
