The Miyares Family

George and Idanis Miyares have been married for 21 years. They have two (2) kids ( Jazniela Miyares 18 years old George Miyares 17 years old).    George Miyares 44 year old former Correction Officer for Miami Dade County and Former Police Officer for Biscayne Park Police  Department suffered a heart attack back in 2013. After over going surgery and receiving 2 stents, he continued working in order to help continue Supporting the family.

However, back on August of 2017 Officer Miyares suffered his second heart attack which caused him to leave us for two (2) minutes of his life and doctors had to bring him back via defibrillator, doctors proceeded in inserting another stent and informed George Miyares that there is an additional artery which is currently at 60% . If George reaches 70% bypass surgery will be required .Officer was then considered to be 100% disabled. Unfortunately due to the way the Disabilty system works, Officer Miyares has not received his pension as expected and he’s been struggling financially.

Idanis Miyares 41 years old has been in the Property Management field for 19 years. Idanis first commenced her career at One Brickell Square where she started as a receptionist and due to hard work and dedication she was able to work her way up to Property Manager. She has been a Property Manager for almost eleven (11)Years. Idanis Miyares has Passion for Property Management where she has won five (5) Toby Awards. As she says “ It takes a team to make it happen”.

Idanis Miyares after arriving at her home one day felt the left portion of her face completely numb , Idanis was then rushed to the hospital where her blood pressure was found to be at 200/124. After further testing she was found to have coronar artery disease. Idanis Miyares has then been in and out of the hospitals trying to deal with this disease as well as other findings which were found while being admitted in 4 different Hospitals such as Malfunction of Coronary Vessel, Tachycardia,  Benign Hypertension Heart Disease, Abnormal lab results(Bacteria in blood), Dehydration, Tingling of left leg ( Fallen several times),  Anxiety, Etc.

She has been on disability since September of 2017 and has also been struggling financially.

The Miyares family is at a point of eviction, electricity has been disconnected twice and water has been shut off due to non sufficient funds.  Jazniela Miyares, daughter of Idanis Miyares and George Miyares is currently working 12 hour shifts at Mojo Donuts in order to help the family while they are going through this rough moment instead of enrolling in the Police Academy as previously planned prior to all this heartache.

In addition, Jazniela Miyares had a life threatening car accident the same day of the Toby Awards where the vehicle was considered total loss. The family is now getting around in Uber because the only other vehicle they have is not in driving condition.

Idanis Miyares has been supporting her mother who’s video has gone viral due to her dancing in order to avoid depression. Her mother told her “ I was in a wheel chair for eight (8) months and told I will never walk again, now you have to be strong for your kids and be the professional that you are and have always been”. Those words and seeing her mom how far she’s gotten has kept her away from depression and fighting this decease that may lead to Open Heart Surgery which doctors are trying to avoid due to her age.

Message from Idanis Miyares and George Miyares :

“You only have one life to live. Do what you love and enjoy every moment. Don’t focus on the negative. Instead focus on the positive and enjoy every second of life. Don’t let absolutely any illness bring you down instead let it make you stronger”.

Please help a fellow BOMA Member and Friend during this difficult time in their life.  We encourage any donation that can be made.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
