Our little Addison is almost two years old, and the joy of our lives! Addi was diagnosed with an extremely rare genetic condition, Trisomy 8, which has challenged her development from birth. She cannot walk unassisted at this time, is not speaking, and has struggled with hydrocephalus. Addi has also been diagnosed with cerebral palsy. We have been fortunate enough to be able to provide consistant physical, vision and occupational therapies from a very young age, but there are additional therapies that would greatly benefit Addi's development that we are not equiped to provide for, and are not covered by insurance.
These therapies are specifically addressing her brain/body connections, and training for mom and dad to provide daily focused therapies at home to assist her brain to develop in the needed areas. One of these therapies requires the family to travel to a center in Pennsylvania to receive the training. This special and loving family will need support not only for airfare and tuition, but for lodging and lost wages as well.
Addi responds so quickly and is so eager to be able to walk and talk! She is such a gift to our family, and we want to do everything possible to help her reach her full potential.
